The game is pretty freakin awesome... i'll withhold my vote until i get more into it.

Eh, I wouldn't compare the two, personally. DMC is way more flashy. NG is more about the difficulty of learning your foes moves. While I haven't played enough of DMC4 or NG2, by my playing time with all 3 previous DMC's and NG1, I'd say NG1 was infinitely more hard. NG is far from a game for people not looking for a serious challenge, imo.
If you're pissed about not being able to beat any NG game in 1 night, that's your problem. The rest of the world looking for a real challenge is enjoying it.

the problem isn't the difficulty it's the CURVE... like i said i shouldn't be able to run through the levels with the greatest of ease and then get stuck at the boss for 30 mins... there has to be some sort of middle ground there... also the combos get pretty redundant i must say

you're the only one i know who's had that problem. i don't think there's a problem with the learning curve. the game is hard <period> and the boss' DO have intricate ways to kill them and vulnerabilitiesgotoman wrote:also the combos get pretty redundant i must say

Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang and Blade of the Archfiend
1. Acquired: Dragon's Fang and Tiger's Claw (Chapter 4), Blade of the Archfiend (Chapter 14)
2. Info: One of the most powerful weapons in the game, especially when you acquire the upgraded version of the Tiger's Claw and Dragon's Fang, the Blade of the Archfiend, in Chapter 14. The weapon will make some of the final boss fights infinitely easier.
3. NOTE: Don't waste your yellow orbs upgrading the Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang, since when you acquire the Blade of the Archfiend in Chapter 14, it will automatically upgrade itself to level 4. However, you may wish to familiarize yourself with the Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang weapon early in the game so you're comfortable with it later on.

Eclipse Scythe

2. Info: The Eclipse Scythe is an extremely powerful, slightly slow weapon. The Scythe should be your weapon of choice when fighting large, lumbering beasts, as it can level even the strongest foes in a couple well-executed combos. Some of the later bosses can be defeated with a surprising amount of ease using the Scythe's Blood Rain attack. However, the Scythe is not preferred for crowds of smaller enemies, as you may find yourself quickly overwhelmed.

Lunar Staff
1. Acquired: Chapter 1
2. Info: The Lunar Staff is quite powerful, but a bit slow. It should be your weapon of choice for large enemies until Chapter 6 (when you acquire the Eclipse Scythe). Also, the Lunar Staff has one very useful move for parrying flurries of incoming ranged attacks, called Bladed Spider (Y Y). This attack comes in handy for certain sections of boss fights, as it can act as an impenetrable barrier for Ryu.

2. Info: The Kusari-gama has the most devastating range out of any weapon in the game, and it's also one of the fastest. If you're surrounded, and need to quickly gain the upper hand, this should be your weapon of choice. However, don't expect to take down large demons en-mass with the Kusari-gama, as it is not that powerful overall.

2. Info: The Vigoorian Flail is a very strong, very fast weapon. By comparison, it's just as fast as the Kusari-gama, but is actually more powerful. In many different situations the Vigoorian Flail is a good choice, with its long combos and high power. The only drawback is the somewhat limited range of the Vigoorian Flail.

yeah, but don't you think that would get ever MORE hard with the fast moving camera and some of the crazy angles you get attacked from? i really don't think that would be an improvement on THIS game.
