UO and dual core
i'm not sure what i did, but UO started having problems with running on both cores. i was able to fix it by going into the task manager and setting the affinity for the process, but this isn't good enough for me. i want it set at runtime.

this little proggy comes with with the windows server 2003 resource kit, but it works on any NT-based system (XP/Vista). download it, put it in your C:\Windows\system32 and then open up a cmd window.
run imagecfg -a 0x1 "C:\Path to\CoDUOMP.exe"
then the affinity will be set every time.
again, i'm not sure what i did to make it have problems, as UO was running fine for a month or so on the same system.

I don't have any problems.

Communities are not killed by the games or their gamers, they are killed by bad leadership.

installed a dual core opty 180 last night (@2.8ghz+ddr500) and now uo is tons smoother. my in game ping in bas is 10 less now. i did install a msft
hotfix for dual core fixes and used nhancer to select dual core and to force
dxt3 in the nvidia driver.

I'm just messing with you adrenaline.... I'm sure you could do it, I on the other hand don't know if I would be able to set it up.

Thanks Git. I thought it was funny I could run BF2 full specs and UO was jumpy.

well the problems i started to see were weird happenings - especially in singleplayer. enemies would stand straight up with their arms out after i killed them, certain scripted events failed to happen, etc.
then i was testing out some mod stuff in multiplayer and i started to see a lot of infinite loop errors.
i do experience the issues with artillery in which my FPS drops like nuts (8800 GTS). unfortunately, that isn't dual core related (that i'm aware of).

Same here and I have an 8800 GTX. I am however buying another one hopefully sooner then later. I am gonna try this link you posted and I'll post some feedback as well if you need.
Re: UO and dual core
Prepping for bas night, I've been going through all of these stickies. Is this relevant anymore?

probably yes, but it was really only a problem when hosting a server or playing singleplayer, where in both scenarios, you're machine is having to compile and process scripts. as a multiplayer client, i doubt you'd have this issue.
