The Need For a Private Forum

Postby MediEval » Tue Jul 24, 2012 6:03 am

So it's become quite obvious that we really DO need a private forum for DayZ as there is at least one person (Hi Scuur!) who likes to check out what we talk about here. In a post on the DayZ forums, he quoted something that I posted here in our forums.

What's weird though is that I don't recall any of us mentioning where we originated from or any of us that even wear tags in game so must've done some diggin'.

Anyway, if it can be done, it would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure he's not the only one who's watched our movements through our posts.

DAMN THIS GAME MAKES YOU PARANOID!

I put a request up in the admin forum yesterday. I'd like to set it up like my twl forum WAY back. The user has to request access then myself, ct, or rhino (or any other forum "leader") must approve access. Obviously any unknown would need to go through a screening process. All new users would first have to provide proof of ownership of the game

forum is up. Not sure how the request to join interface works as I'm already a member, plus I can only do so much investigating with a phone. As for the server, pm him or someone get on aim with him that's far more qualified to talk about logistics

I got the pm, but don't see the forum. I would like access to it.

Like I said, go to the bottom of the index page (where it lists who is online) and click on the arma link (that's next to the moderators, server admins links). From there request to join group. Or you can go through you user control panel and find your active groups, select arma private forum and request to join from there. That is how this should be set up. You will then have to wait for approval

Requesting to join is not done via pm. You should just be able to select the usergroup and there should be a button to request to join. I am however not sure that it is setup correctly as it is denying me managment rights.

There's no button for "Join Group". There is only the "PM" button

Try this. Go to your user control panel. Select usergroups- edit memberships. Click the button on the far right (if there is one) of the arma forum and then go to the bottom and select join group and hit submit

There isn't one.

I'm sure it's because of this...

ArmA Group
Access to ArmA Private Forum
This is a closed group, new members can only join upon invitation of a group leader.

That's what I figured. Yet I have no ability to manage or invite even though I'm a leader. I could be missing something completely cause of trying to figure this all out on my phone. Touch screens are still far more a hinderance than they are an innovation
