I know. My friends list says the same thing Stevo. It's unfortunate that BF3 went in the direction it did in our community.

I won't speak for other people, but I'd guess it was EA that killed BF3. The unnecessary amount of large updates, having to switch to basically a pay-as-you-go system. They turned a great series into today's CoD. The login system was already unbearable to me but with everything else, it's completely turned me off. Gaming(in general) is being killed by EA and Activision.

I think there's more empty servers for BF3 than CoD2 percentage-wise and that speaks volumes. I bet more people are still playing 2142 than 3, sad as it is. Hell, I'm still only a level 12 in 3. I do actually want to play it but the want gets less and less.

Use XFire or something and try hitting me up sometime. I almost played the other night but chose another game instead because without checking the browser, as far as I was concerned, no one was playing.

EA claims the browser makes it "easier to get with friends," but it's one extra step between me and playing instantly. XFire can alter what I want to play simply because it's always open on my PC and always visible.

As expansive as the game is regarding weapons, vehicles, upgrades, etc., I still don't think it has long-term playability. I know that map expansions have come out with more on the way, but honestly, if the game was opened up to everyone to map for it, we'd have a boatload of user-created content to play, helping the game stay alive. As little as $10 or $15 for a map pack may be, I just don't feel like paying for it after I already paid the full price for the game itself.

Plus, this whole thing where you can unlock all the weapons, vehicles and upgrades by simply paying for them really grinds my gears. What's the fun in that and where's the "nobility" of it all? It's like saying "well, you can pay $40,000 for college and go through all 4-years to earn your degree, or you can just pay $80,000 instead and we'll hand you the piece of paper right now."

The only thing that separates PC gamers from the console guys (besides better graphics) is the option for user-created content such as maps and mods. Otherwise, PCs have no discernible edge. If I'm somewhat interested in a game, I will be much more likely to throw my support behind it if it provides for extra material created by the community.

I have to go back on one part of my statement above. I will be shelling out $14.99 for the Armored Kill expansion. The addition of 4 new (HUGE!) maps, plus new vehicle types (tank destroyers and mobile artillery, joy!) is enough to make me throw down the dough. I've skipped out on paying for the other expansions though and will not be buying the final one to come out (End Game). I only have the Back to Karkand expansion because it was included free with my pre-order of BF3.

Not sure about your mobo, CPU and RAM, but here's your video card, the GTX 480 at just $200...

Great card. That's what I have. But, you better add a $100 power supply to that list. It's a beast. Needs two twelve volt rails

Nah man... I'm looking at a complete rebuild. On a related note, Armored Kill is pretty freaking awesome on xbox anyway. I love Alborz Mountain. It's so vertical and a unique feeling map. You literally are fighting from the base of a mountain to the peak. Bandar Desert is a good one too, but there's a LOT of open space on it.

A review of what? I don't have Armored Kill yet and I have the GTX 470, not the 480. Even if I did have it, the GTX 480 is two GPU series old now and countless reviews have already been written on it I'm sure.
