you need to customize the settings like crazy. xfire acts as a p2p client for files you have that it can use. you'll need to throttle it big time to cut down on memory usage. mine only has a 7MB footprint, which is smaller than aim.

heh, well, i just checked and i lied. you can only throttle downloads. um...i dunno what to say then! :) mine is only 7MB, so i don't know why yours is so high.

Go into Tools - Options and you change it to a nickname. Then thats what it will show to your friends.

Like my username is pvtcorrigan but I put my nickname as |ax| Pvt. Corrigan
