I just ordered a Shure PG42 USB microphone from Amazon and should have it by the weekend. Plus, I've already got the full version of Fraps for screen capture.

I'm saving every game posted and will begin my replay casts as soon as the mic gets here. I'm looking forward to calling these matches. :D

Since I have the most PTS (from both rounds), I guess I get to choose the factions.

Am I correct Bielab?

You are correct... sort of. At the end of Game 1, MediEval had 286 Victory points remaining. You were annihilated, so your Victory points were "drained to zero." The 355 remaining does not count for you. At the end of Game 2, you had 386 Victory Points remaining. Based on your screen shot, MediEval either surrendered or was annihilated, so his Victory points were "drained to zero." So you count the Victory points remaining for the games you guys won. MediEval has 286 VPs from his Game 1 win and you have 386 VPs from your game 2 win. So for game 3, you have first choice of faction selection because you have 100 VPs more than MediEval.

The determination of the game 3 winner will be the defeated player's Victory Points were drained to zero or the defeated player's base has been annihilated or the defeated player surrenders during play. The game 3 map will be the same as the first two games, langres.

Good luck you two, it should be an exciting game. Try to save and post the replay if you can :) .

well Bielab blitz'd the 2 fuel points on that map preveting allies from early BARs and same went for PE deminishing them of fuel until allies had tanks. We discussed strategies on that map, but who ever grabs the fuel first and defends it (on both sides) basically wins. An opponent would need to take the fuel back to neutral and then grab it.. the PE only has light units that take quickly.

first match... bielab fuel... early BARs.... bielab victory.
2nd match... bielab fuel again... (no replay viewing, no side switching)... trumped my infantry... no bars to fight off possible halftracks... bielab victory again.

is this a complaint... no it's something I didn't expect and didn't think that taking back a point would be too hard. yeah I lasted longer w/ PE, but didn't have enough fuel to stay toe-2-toe w/ bielab's tech and eventually heavy units.

There's only 4 fuel points. By grabbing them both early, you are ahead even if you are not collecting the resources from them.

Image

Does the same strategy work against a HARD AI.... no. AI can micro manage all units at once, so they can push you back from both angles. As a PE player, you have time until the AI obtains BARs, but you will have to focus on one side.

One idea is to be in the north and try scorched Earth tactics, once you have your first CP, build roadbocks by the East Fuel allowing you to keep the ammo and fuel from being taken early on. You can also garrison the first house that is near the end of the hedgerow, but I'm wondering if you're able to hold the VP long enough from that position.
You should never argue with idiots, because they will drag you down to their level....then beat you with experience.

Don't sell yourself too short. That second game was still very early and anything could have been possible. If you can't decap the high fuel points, you can always hit the cutoff strat points. They are faster to decap and it will still deny your opponent access to the high fuel. The American rifleman have one of the fastest capping speeds in the game and they could easily decap those strat points. When you control the flank, then take the fuel.

With those rifleman vs. the PE, pick and choose your battles. If you feel yourself out gunned and out numbered, withdraw your troops and wait when you have the advantage. Don't want to give your opponent free veterency :) . Perhaps go weapon support and build some mg teams to suppress the PE infantry and a sniper to pick them off. Put observation posts on the ammo dumps to bump your ammo income. With a bump in ammo, lay mines, get some recoil rifles on your para troopers or have a base ammo supply for a strafing run for those infantry blobs.

Tiger, lets play our games tomorrow evening. I would have played you tonight, but I had homework to do for my C++ class. I've been writing algorithms for the past 3 hours and my brain is a bit scrambled. :eek8:
