The wonderful game of CoD4 gives this lovely message:

And when i try to get on a server, it says code_post_gfx_mp.ff is a different version. So i tried reinstalling the patch, but it says its already installed. I tried removing that file, and cod4 wont run, now i dont want to go through reinstalling this piece of ****, but i was wondering if there is something else that could be done? Thank you.

Sage had to reinstall the game because of that error. So I guess you'll need to do that if you've tried everything else.

Before you click to join the server, click on "Server info" and it will tell you what version it is... you're joining a server that ISN'T 1.7, that's for sure.

I'm sorry but i can tell you for sure that the 2 servers i was trying to join were 1.7, i did check them. But i see i have to reinstall, thanks.

i'll see if i can get the proper versions of these files online

if you're using the 1.4 backwards compatibility mod with 1.7, don't - its not compatible with 1.7

im using it with the steam version of the game and it seem to work for me. maybe i just got lucky :rolleyes:
